EMD's F40PH is still going strong moving commuters on regional systems all over the US. This model, based on units serving Chicago's METRA system, features a retooled body with over-cab air conditioning units, illuminated ditch lights and directional head- and tail-lights for push-pull operation. Other features include:
Body-mounted KATO magnetic knuckle couplers
Directional Golden White LED headlights and illuminated preprinted number boards
Shock absorber construction for smooth and prototypical motion
Powerful five-pole motor with all-wheel electrical pickup and blackened wheels
Alternate snow plow for tight radius operation
Drop in DCC compatible with the Train Control Systems K0D8-C (Amtrak) and Train Control Systems K5D7 (Metra), both sold separately
